attempt at scanner

Attempted to hook up the scanner last night.
1- MODEL: HP psc 1510 allinone
Issue: XP sees the scanner. But always returns the error that it is in use by another application.
2-AGFA SCANWISE: needs a 12v / 1.5amp powersourse. I tryed a 12v 1 anp powersourse and it does not work.. I searched for a hour and still can not find the exact powersource needed. Ill continue to search and ill be verry happy when i find it.
